Nottoway is one of the largest plantaion homes in the south. Built in 1859 for John Hampden Randolph and his family, this plantation is full of rich history and cultural background. This plantation still stands today in White Castle, Louisiana.

With 64 rooms in the house, there is a lot to see. It would be hard to get bored in sure a great house. The rooms range from a brilliant ballroom to a lovely music room.

John Hampden Randolph and Emily Jane Liddell married on December 14, 1837. They had eleven children between 1838 and 1862. The seven daughters were Elle Eugenia, Mary Augusta, Emma Jane, Cornelia, Sarah Virginia, Annie Carolina, and Julia Marceline. The four sons were Algernon Sidney, Moses Liddell, John Hampden Jr., and Peter Everett.
